Before you replace it, let a biomed look at it.

In apexx's own words: don't throw it away. Extend the life of your equipment and save money with the apexx repair program. Evaluations and repairs are performed by apexx's Certified Biomedical Engineers and Technicians, and every completed repair carries a 90-day bumper-to-bumper parts and labor warranty on the whole unit, not just the work performed.

Repair it before you replace it

apexx's case, in their words: instead of spending thousands of dollars on new equipment, the repair service can get you up and running for a fraction of the cost, extending the useful life of equipment you already own.

The evaluation produces a BE/RA, a Biomedical Evaluation / Repair Estimate: initial findings, diagnosis, and a complete estimate to bring your equipment back to original manufacturer's specifications. Nothing is repaired until you approve it.

If you decline the repair, apexx offers trade-in rebates for most equipment, so a non-working unit can still lower the out-of-pocket cost of its replacement. That path is here →

What "bumper-to-bumper" means here

In apexx's words: compare this to other "repair" companies that warranty only the parts they replace.

How a repair runs

Nothing gets repaired without your approval of a written estimate. The clock below is apexx's published turnaround; complex repairs and special-order parts extend it.

  1. Tell us the symptoms

Form below or a phone call. What it does, what it stopped doing, and when.

  2. Ship it in

With every accessory used in normal operation, so the fault can be reproduced.

  3. Biomedical evaluation

A BE/RA: findings, diagnosis and a complete repair estimate, typically within 1–2 business days of arrival.

  4. You approve

Or you decline. Declining costs the evaluation fee and return freight, and the trade-in desk is the alternative.

  5. Repair, QC and return

Repaired to original manufacturer specification, verified, then shipped back. Express shipping available.

What comes across the bench

In apexx's words: basic repairs and even extensive, complex repairs. These are the equipment classes apexx names on its repair page.

Not on the list? Ask anyway. The evaluation is the same process regardless of what the equipment is, and the answer to "is this worth fixing" costs one evaluation fee to find out.

What it costs to find out

The evaluation fee runs $95 to $250 depending on manufacturer and product. That buys a biomedical evaluation and repair estimate (BE/RA): what is wrong, what it takes to fix, and what it will cost to bring the unit back to original manufacturer specification.

The repair itself depends on the cosmetic and operational condition of the equipment and the total cost of parts and labor. You see that number before any work starts.

Rentals while yours is out

apexx keeps a limited number of rental units for many makes and models. An identical model is not guaranteed. You cover round-trip freight and professional repackaging of the rental. Ask a consultant about availability and fees before you ship, not after.

If you decline the repair

Two exits. Take a trade-in rebate against new or Certified Pre-Owned equipment, which turns a broken unit into credit. Or pay return shipping and handling and it comes back to you in the condition it arrived.

Packing it so it arrives in the same condition

  • Over-package. Assume a three to five foot drop in transit.
  • Insure for full replacement value.
  • FedEx or FedEx Ground preferred; UPS and USPS as a last resort.
  • Include every accessory used in daily operation, or the fault may not be reproducible.
  • Include your contact details and a written description of the symptoms.

No packaging materials? EZ Ship

For one price apexx sends a custom box with custom packaging for that specific piece of equipment, plus a return label, with full replacement-value insurance included. You box it, seal it, call, and the carrier collects. Not available for every item.

Submit a repair

Give the symptoms in plain language: what it did, what it does now, whether it powers on, whether it errors. That description is what the technician tries to reproduce on the bench, and a good one shortens the evaluation.

Repair center questions

What does the evaluation cost, and what do I get for it?

Evaluation fees range from $95 to $250 depending on manufacturer and product. It produces a BE/RA: a biomedical evaluation and repair estimate covering initial findings, diagnosis, and the complete cost to bring the equipment back to original manufacturer specification.

The repair cost itself depends on the condition of the unit and the parts and labor required.

How long does it take?

The evaluation is typically completed within 1–2 business days of receiving your equipment. From the day you approve the estimate, repairs are typically completed in 1–2 business days, subject to complexity, special-order parts, or other issues found during final QC. Express shipping is available to get it back faster.

Is there a warranty on the repair?

Every completed repair carries a 90-day bumper-to-bumper parts and labor warranty: not only the work performed, but every part of the equipment. apexx performs a complete system verification and certification to original manufacturer specification as part of the repair.

What if I decline the repair?

apexx offers trade-in rebates for most equipment, so a unit not worth repairing can still lower the cost of its replacement. If you would rather have it back, a return shipping and handling fee applies and it is repackaged and returned in the same condition it was received.

What should I put in the box?
  • All accessories and parts used in normal daily operation. Without the complete system the fault often cannot be reproduced, which delays everything.
  • Your contact information: business card or letterhead.
  • A brief written description of the symptoms.
Are rental units available?

On a limited basis, for many makes and models. An identical model to the one being repaired is not guaranteed. You are responsible for professional repackaging and round-trip freight on the rental. A consultant can confirm availability and fees.

Which carrier should I use?

FedEx or FedEx Ground, for package handling, claim management and dependable transit times. UPS and USPS as a last resort. Insure the package for full replacement value whoever you use. You are responsible for packaging adequate to survive standard shipping; apexx is not responsible for transit damage caused by inadequate packaging.

Describe the symptoms. An Equipment Consultant takes it from there.
