Start where the room is

Every room on this plan is a working list in the catalog. Pick the space you are building and the equipment that belongs in it is already filtered.

Illustrative layout. Your consultant works from your architect's plan, not this one.

Two minutes on how a hospital gets equipped

Before the quotes, before the freight: what an equipment consultant actually does with your budget, your timeline and your floor plan.

  • One consultation instead of juggling reps from six vendors.
  • New where it matters, Certified Pre-Owned where it saves, in the same package.
  • Everything ships together in one pod, so nothing arrives while the drywall is still up.
  • Concierge set-up on site: inventory, inspection, unboxing, basic set-up.

Four things that only work if one company owns all of them

apexx calls this the apexx360 value. In practice it is four commitments that collapse the part of a build-out that usually goes wrong.

Invest ONE hour

One hour or twenty, a consultant works through your caseload, budget and objectives before recommending a single item.

Get ONE solution

No price-shopping six vendors and reconciling six quotes. One customized package, one agreement.

Ships in ONE pod

The hospital ships together, not in forty boxes across three months. Fewer mis-ships, less transit damage, no delivery babysitting.

Equip ONE clinic

On-time delivery against your opening date, with equipment installed and working for day one.

The start-up package, priced against today's catalog

This is apexx's own Hospital Equipment Planner (rev.112823), line for line. Uncheck what you do not need, change quantities, and the total moves with live list prices from the catalog. Then send the whole thing over as one quote request.

What a build-out actually costs

apexx's published planning ranges, subject to the size and scope of your start-up or expansion. Equipment is one line among several, and it is the one that keeps generating revenue after opening day.

Planning ranges published by apexx for a new veterinary practice.
LineBudget rangeNotes
Medical / surgical equipment$30,000 – $250,000+The band is this wide because imaging decides it. Digital radiography alone can be a third of the total.
Lab equipment$30,000 – $50,000Analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes. Certified pre-owned is common here.
Kennel equipment$10,000 – $50,000+Cage banks scale with runs and species mix.
Waiting room and exam rooms$10,000 – $20,000+Tables, scales, lighting, seating.
Clerical / bookkeeping set-up$2,000 – $5,000Workstations and back-office hardware.
Practice management software$3,500 – $15,000Licensing and implementation.
Insurance$2,000+Varies by state and coverage.
Marketing materials$2,000+Opening campaign, signage, print.

One planning rule worth more than the ranges: keep your building financing separate from your equipment budget. When the contractor comes back over budget on the build, separate equipment financing is what keeps you from opening with less equipment than your business plan assumed.

Financing

apexx assists with equipment financing so the package you planned is the package you open with. Even with cash on hand, talk to your accountant first: leasing or financing often makes more sense than draining liquidity in the year you also need working capital.

Expanding rather than starting

The same package logic applies to a second surgery suite, a dental room, or an imaging upgrade. The difference is trade-in: what you are replacing carries value that lowers the out-of-pocket cost of what replaces it. Look up what your current equipment is worth →

Questions we get before the first order

What equipment does a new clinic actually need?

The short list every general practice opens with: digital radiography (full body and dental), anesthesia with monitoring, exam and surgery tables, surgical and exam lighting, an autoclave, a centrifuge and microscope for in-house lab, IV pumps, a patient warming system, scales, and cages. Beyond that it depends on what you intend to do in-house versus refer out.

The reference package above is one real configuration of exactly that list. Ask a consultant for a comprehensive recommendation against your own caseload.

New or Certified Pre-Owned?

Both, in one package. In apexx's words: choose between New and apexx Pre-Owned Certified equipment, and save money by enjoying substantial discounts for purchasing bundled veterinary equipment packages. The reference planner itself specifies certified units in four positions: autoclave, centrifuge, electrosurgery and tonometer.

Certified units carry a 90-day parts and labor warranty and a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. How certification works →

Can the package be customized piece by piece?

Yes. The planner is a starting configuration, not a fixed bundle. Every line can change model, condition or quantity, and lines you do not need come out entirely. Bundling discounts scale with the final order, including both core and digital imaging products.

Bring your floor plan. We will bring the equipment list.

One hour with an equipment consultant is the difference between a hospital that opens fully equipped and one that opens with a wish list taped to the wall.
