The equipment in your storage room is part of the price of the next one.

Three exits, and they are not interchangeable

Which one pays you most depends on the condition of the equipment and whether you are buying something to replace it.

Trade-in rebate

Best when you are buying

  • Credit applied against new or Certified Pre-Owned equipment on the same order
  • Works for a single piece or an entire hospital
  • Takes non-working equipment off your hands too
  • Lowest hassle: no listing, no buyers, no waiting for a sale

Outright sale

Best when you want cash, not credit

  • You name an asking price, apexx buys it
  • One piece or several
  • No obligation to buy anything in return
  • Same intake as a trade-in, different payout
Sell it outright

Consignment

Best for excellent condition, maximum return

  • You set the selling price with apexx's fair-market advice
  • apexx certifies, warranties, lists, sells and ships it
  • You receive 70% of the final selling price, less costs
  • Add 10% if you put the proceeds toward equipment
How consignment works

What is it worth?

apexx publishes trade-in ranges for the models it sees most. Search yours. A range is not an offer: condition, age, manufacturer support, accessories and current marketability decide where a specific unit lands.

Not on the list? Most equipment is not. Send the details and the acquisitions desk assesses value and marketability directly.

What moves a number inside the range

apexx bases trade-in values on several variables. In their own words, the ones that matter:

    • Condition. Consignment-grade equipment is very good to excellent. Non-working equipment still qualifies for a trade-in rebate.
    • Age. One of the named variables in every published range.
    • Original manufacturer support. Certified resale requires equipment that can be certified and reliably supported with original manufacturer parts.
    • Marketability. The fourth variable apexx names for every valuation.
    • Original accessories. Maximum consignment value requires all the original accessories.

    Photos change the number

Digital pictures raise the accuracy of the assessment and, in apexx's own words, potentially raise the value of your equipment. Shoot the front, the display, the serial plate, the ports and the accessories laid out together.

    Then be patient

The acquisitions desk receives information on hundreds of pieces of equipment each month. If a week passes with no reply, call 720-200-0124 rather than assuming the answer was no.

    How a trade-in runs

    1. Tell us what you have

Make, model, age, condition, accessories, photos. One form per unique piece.

    2. Assessment

apexx assesses value and marketability from what you provide, and comes back with a figure.

    3. Your call

Take it as cash, or as credit against new and Certified Pre-Owned equipment on your next order.

    4. Ship it

Package it properly, insure it, FedEx preferred. Guidelines below.

    5. Credit applied

The rebate lands against your quote and lowers what you actually pay out of pocket.

Consignment, with the economics on the table

Consignment pays the most and takes the longest, because your equipment gets certified and sold the same way apexx sells its own Certified Pre-Owned inventory. You share the risk, you keep most of the upside, and you never talk to a tire-kicker.

    What apexx does

    • Certifies the equipment to original manufacturer specification, by biomedical engineers and technicians
    • Puts its standard 90-day warranty on your unit
    • Lists it, advises its consultants it is available, and fields the buyers
    • Negotiates the sale, collects payment, details, packages and ships it
    • Carries the advertising, commissions, and the risk of failure during the warranty

    What you carry

    • Packaging, freight and loss/damage insurance to get it there safely
    • The certification cost, and any parts or labor needed to bring it to specification
    • A detailing fee if it arrives needing more than a normal clean

You set the selling price with apexx's fair-market advice, and you can move it up or down. Offers below your price come to you for a decision.

The bonus, concretely. Your unit sells and $1,000 is due to you after costs. Put it toward new or Certified Pre-Owned equipment, or leave it on account, and apexx adds 10%: $1,100 to spend now or later.

    Getting started

One inventory sheet per unique piece, sent to the acquisitions desk, with photos to tradedesk@apexx360.com. Questions: 720-200-0124.

Getting it here in one piece

The most critical step in the whole transaction is transport. Equipment that arrives damaged is worth what damaged equipment is worth, and the carrier's inspector decides whether the packaging caused it.

    • Over-package. Assume the box takes a three to five foot drop. If you are unsure, add more.
    • Insure it for full replacement value, whoever you ship with.
    • FedEx or FedEx Ground is what apexx recommends: package handling, claim management and dependable transit. UPS and USPS as a last resort.
    • Send the accessories. Everything used in normal daily operation, so the unit can be evaluated as a complete system.
    • Include your details. Business card or letterhead, and a note on what the equipment does and does not do.

You are responsible for packaging adequate to survive standard shipping. apexx is not responsible for transit damage caused by inadequate packaging.

Not sure it is worth shipping?

Send photos and the model first. The desk will tell you before you spend money on freight.

    Send it in for valuation

One form per piece. The more you can say about condition and accessories, the closer the first number lands to the final one.

    1. What you have Model, age, condition, accessories.
    2. How to reach you Phone or email, whichever you actually answer.
    3. What you want Cash, trade credit, or consignment.
    • Buying something too? Say so in the notes. Trade credit is applied to that quote directly.
    • Not working? Still send it. Non-working equipment is a trade-in rebate rather than a disposal bill.
    • Whole hospital? Practices closing or consolidating are handled as one acquisition, not thirty forms.
How would you like to be paid

    Trade-in questions

How long until I hear back?

The acquisitions desk receives information on hundreds of pieces of equipment every month. If you have not heard back within a week of submitting, call 720-200-0124 and ask for acquisitions.

Can I trade in equipment that does not work?

Yes. apexx offers trade-in rebates for most equipment, working or not. If a repair estimate comes back higher than you want to spend, the trade-in rebate becomes the alternative to paying someone to haul it away. Repair estimates work like this →

What happens to what I trade in?

Consigned equipment in very good to excellent condition is certified to original manufacturer specification by apexx's biomedical engineers and technicians, carries apexx's standard 90-day warranty, and is listed on the site. See the certification standard →

Do I have to buy something to trade in?

No. A trade-in rebate assumes a purchase because the credit lands against it, but an outright sale does not. Tell us which you want on the form and the desk quotes accordingly.

    Who pays for shipping?

You do, and you insure it. That holds for trade-in, outright sale and consignment. apexx's packaging guidelines exist because inadequate packaging is the single most common way value disappears between your clinic and the evaluation bench.

Have the model number handy? That is the whole first step.

Call the acquisitions desk and get a read on what it is worth before you decide whether to keep it, fix it, or trade it.
